London Food Scene: Cinnamon, Soho

We paid a visit to Cinnamon earlier in the summer. It helped that it was located only a short walk from Piccadilly Circus and we were touristing around that area.

It is a nice, little restaurant with not the brightest ambience but the environment is welcoming and staff very friendly. After much contemplation we ordered the Papdi Chaat and Tandoori Spiced Chicken, Cashew Nut Korma and Pilau Rice. We loved that chaat and even though the plate didn’t look very big, the serving size was quite generous.

The tandoori chicken dish had an interesting flavour. Different from most other tandooris I had tried, especially because of the curry/ sauce on top. But I have to say, I am yet to be blown away with South Asian restaurant in Central London and I am not sure if it was our money’s worth as the prices are not the cheapest. One of my friends tried their High Chai (which I think is a very different idea). It is basically a South Asian version of afternoon tea and it is only £10. I am definitely going back for trying that!

For food and drink you can expect to pay about £20 per person. [The restaurant serves Halal food and drink]
