London Food Scene: Arianna, Mile End

Arianna has been a regular in our group of friends as it was located only a short walk away from our university campus in Mile End [also has new branches now]. It is also because we love the environment, service, food, mint tea and the shisha.

I think it is a very nice place to catch up with friends, relax in an evening with good weather (as they have a veranda) or to just try some very nice Persian food. I always order the Chicken Shish Kebab as it is the best I have had in London. The meat is succulent and flavoursome, served with salad and saffron rice. My friends also enjoy their Kabuli Pilau. I have also had their curries but they have never impressed me.

In terms of drinks, you have got to try their mint tea! They make it with fresh leaves of mint and serve it in cute little hand painted pots.

They also have a unique range of dessert, out of which I have had the Afghani rice pudding and Persian sweet made with milk, egg, butter, cinnamon and semolina. Pudding was generally a nice one, but nothing special as such. The other dessert on the other hand was something I had never had before. It was served warm and fresh, which only added to the experience.

All in all you can expect to spend about £15 per person. [All food and drink served is Halal]
