Bintang is based in Camden Town, a little walk away from the Camden Lock Market. The restaurant’s ambience is as quirky as its location (in the most tasteful way). There is a café-ish twist to the ambience with wooden benches, neon decorations and hand painted cutlery. While we sat inside the restaurant, there is also an outdoor seating area.
Overall the quality of the food was good. I tried the chicken & vegetarian dumplings and Sisak curry with coconut rice. The dumplings were nice and Sisak had a nice flavour to it. Having said that it was not the best Pan-Asian food I had tried. There was lots of choice on the menu though, and bintang noodles tasted amazing (my friend’s order), so I am guessing bintang curries, soups and noodles probably taste better.
There is however a generous range of drinks to choose from, both hot and cold. I was feeling brave and wanted to order something different, so I got the blueberry mojito. It was right on point, very unique and delicious. The customer service was not the best. While they let us sit without a booking, they were very keen to have us leave right at 7 ‘o clock (2 hours after we arrived) even though the restaurant was not too busy.
The prices are fairly reasonable. You can expect to pay about £15 per person for food and drink. [All food and drink is Halal]
